Our listing reader
NotDoneBuy is the program NotDone uses to read public listings on Vinted and Wallapop, so it can compare prices for the same item. It always identifies itself by name.
How to recognise it
Every request it makes carries this User-Agent:
NotDoneBuy/0.1 (+https://notdone.app/en/crawler; hello@notdone.app)
It never poses as a browser, never uses an account, never opens pages that require signing in, never works around blocks or checks, and never switches addresses to avoid notice. It runs from our server in Finland.
What we read
We read search pages and the pages of some listings on Vinted and Wallapop, only for items with a specific model. Never seller profiles or messages. We open a listing's page only to find out what shipping costs, and only once we have matched the listing to a specific model.
We read at most a few hundred pages a day per site, with a pause between requests. If a site refuses a request, we stop and do not retry straight away.
The sites' rules
We only read pages that the site's robots.txt leaves open, with one exception we want to state plainly. Wallapop's robots.txt closes its search to automated programs. We read that search through the public interface Wallapop's own website relies on, which has no robots.txt. If Wallapop asks us to stop, we stop.
What we keep
The title, price, condition, shipping, the town when the listing gives one, and the link to the listing. Never the seller's name or profile, never the description, and we don't copy the photos. The privacy notice has the details.
How to ask us to stop
If you run one of these sites and want us to stop reading it, email hello@notdone.app. Within a day of your email we stop reading the site and showing its listings, and we delete the ones we hold within thirty days.
If you sell on one of these sites and don't want a listing of yours on NotDone, send us the link: we remove it within three working days.
