If these tariffs reduce in the future, I will of course reduce my prices accordingly.** Beautiful quality vintage 1970s 100% leather bag by Lancel. This is really high quality, heavy leather with the Lancel 'L' logo sewn onto an etiquette on the front. It also has two etiquettes stitched on the front and the back which are for it to be pulled. I think it would have been a document wallet originally, probably for men. However, I think this works really well as a clutch bag for women, or it can also still be a bag for men. It is hinged on each side with a heavy rod of metal running through the top, and it springs open when you pull it at the top, and it holds itself open. It has slightly concertinaed sides to give it more space. I have given this a leather wax and it's come up really beautiful and glossy. It's a lovely rich, chestnut colour. The inside is lined in an almost fluffy, velvet-style fabric. I see this quite a lot in vintage bags; I'm not sure what it is. It feels like velvet. It has one inside zipped pocket. It's an old-style zip. It's heavily seamed all around the inside to reinforce it, so it is excellent quality. There are no other labels at all inside. I can't even see that there would have been at any point. It is slightly out of shape, I think, probably just from years of wear, and there are lots of scuffs and signs of wear throughout the entire piece, especially on the bottom and on the corners. It's been well-loved and well-used, but it's got plenty of life left in it. It works wonderfully as a clutch bag, very mid-century style. It's a really good size, easy to fit everything you could possibly need for a day and a night!
